This partnership pairs third grade classrooms from multiple
Stillwater and St. Paul Elementary Schools in an environmental science partnership.
The project teaches Minnesota Science Standards using the FOSS Science
materials. The FOSS kits are studied in class and theValley Branch ELC science
visits expand upon these studies incorporating an experiential
approach.
NATURE INVESTIGATORS - Water Watchers
This class focuses on the many ways that
scientists learn about our world, in this case the world of water. The
students will learn about water in nature by using tools to investigate
what they find. Activities include: testing, observing, identifying,
collecting, etc. This course will address the following Science
Standard: I.A3 Understand the use of science as a tool to examine the
natural world, and I.B3 Understand the nature of scientific
investigations.
